My name is Chris Stangl and I am from Austria. As you may remember I speedclimbed Everest last year (May 25th 2006) in 16h 42 minutes from Northside ABC/6.400m to summit without O2.

Few days ago I speedclimbed Cho Oyu in 15hours 6 minutes from Basecamp to summit.

I arrived at Basecamp at September 18th. joining an international group run by Asian Trekking. One of the member was also the russian senior climber Boris Korshunov. Due to general bad weather this season I could spend only three nights at camp 1/ 6.400m for acclimatisation before my summit attack starting at September 30th/ 05:00pm.
I climbed continously the entire night and reached the summit at 08:06am Oktober 1st. The temperature during night time was very pleasant and at the vast summit plateau was nearly no wind- just perfect!
