South African's reach the South Pole - unassisted - Tristan Firman
Well traveled adventures Alex Harris and Sibusiso Vilane, on Thursday successfully reached the South Pole unassisted. Their quest began on the 10th of November 2007, and they dragged 130kg sleds nearly 1 200km through the inhospitable Antarctic amid temperatures as low as -40degC.
