Silvermine Closures not being Respected
Hi
I am currently trying to find out the status of the nesting Rock
Kestrels at the main crag. There are signs up which indicate (albeit
ambiguously) that the entire crag is closed until the birds are done
with nesting. However, not all climbers are respecting this closure.
There were people climbing there last weekend, and the weekend before that.
I would like to urge everyone to please respect this temporary closure.
Aside from the fact that it could jeopardise access for everyone, it
would be a terrible pity if the presence of a few ignorant, selfish
people caused the birds to abandon the nest with eggs or young inside.
When the crag is opened again, I will make sure to spread the word as
soon as I can.
Big thanks to those who do respect these closures, and those who support
the principle.
cheers
Brent
