Although it was brought to a grinding halt by dead drill
batteries, the Kleinmond rebolting mission that took
place last weekend went extremely well. The turn out
was good and the enthusiasm plentiful. And in light

didn't come a moment too soon.

This is to let you know that the Kestrels nesting at Silvermine main crag
have fledged, so all routes there are now open again. (KM - though Bill
has warned against climbing at Blaze of Glory because of the vicious Starlings).

We have unfortunately had another bolt failure.
This one was the 5th bolt on Zucchini at Kleinmond
and the unfortunate soul took a thorough screamer
onto the 4th bolt which luckily held.

the permit requirements (including myself). I

SANParks would like everyone to be aware that there is a pair of Rock
Kestrels nesting at the Main Crag....All routes between Sterling Silver
and Mercury should not be climbed, as they are too close to the nest.

Marianne Pretorius took a fall during the 2006 Rock Rally held last weekend
in Waterval Boven. Although she suffered a serious blow to the head which
resulted in fractured skull, it is reported that she is stable and that
extensive tests have indicated her brain to be in a good condition.
